I can't even begin to speculate why a player's stash would function this way. Okay but why though? Why does the player's stash state need to be loaded by players that they encounter in the wild? Why does the player themselves even need to do load it if they're not at the stash? This is such a code smell. So this issue is being caused by the other players wandering your game s almost like people have been warning them about performance issues with other players since Alpha and instead they doubled and tripled down on this MMO-esc design that has now hamstrung there ability to do basic inventory modification. Why would they force-load inventory and stashes of players that you haven't inspected, based purely on their proximity? If their coding is THAT spaghetti barely 1 big patch into the game, then this doesn't sound promising. Absolutely this is not something that would normally be done this way.
